The third album by Polish-British eccentrics Five The Hierophant. The band continues to follow a winding path; further down, towards the interior, and further up, towards new horizons. Avoiding pigeonholing, they combine elements of black/doom, psychedelia, ambient, experimental and jazz into one syncretic whole. “Apeiron” is a hypnotic, hallucinatory experience with a heavy emphasis on dark atmospheres, cinematic landscapes and repetitive ritual sounds that induce trance. The production is a step up from their previous album, “Through Aureate Void”. The band uses unusual instruments such as horns, trumpets, gongs, bells, violins, skull shakers, ritual drums and others that help capture the captivating spirit of their music.
